There is a sad truth.

Around the World, century-old cultures and crafting techniques are being lost to globalization and cheap, bulk-made fashion. There are 65 indigenous ethnic groups in Mexico alone but these amazing artisans are often exploited and not properly paid, forcing them to leave their traditions behind in search for a better life in a big city.

And as if that’s not enough, big international fashion labels are now copying their traditional designs, selling their unique cultural heritage under their own brand names.

We decided it was time to change that and founded Arte Color.

We are a husband and wife with deep roots in Mexico and a lifelong passion for culture, art and sustainability. We have made it our life mission to help preserve the amazing indigenous cultures and traditional crafting techniques of Mexico and around the world. With Arte Color, we have finally made this dream a reality.

Each of these individual success stories then acts like a seed that helps to grow striving indigenous communities from the inside out.
